The costs of greens, flowers, and fruits have seen a steep hike in Bengaluru forward of the Gowri-Ganesha pageant on Friday and Saturday (September 6 and seven).

Whereas the costs of greens have been on the upper aspect for some months now, the costs of flowers went up by lots of earlier than the pageant. On Thursday, September 5, 1 kg of tube rose was promoting at wherever between ₹100-₹150 in wholesale market (Ok.R. Market) and ₹250 per kg in retail markets (Basavanagudi, Jayanagar). Sevanthige (chrysanthemum) was promoting at ₹80-₹100 per kg in wholesale and ₹100-₹160 per kg in retail. It was promoting at lower than ₹100 per kg even in retail earlier than the pageant season set in.
